Workbook Operations:

  • Ctrl+W: Close the currently active workbook.
  • Ctrl+O: Open a new workbook.
  • Ctrl+S: Save the current workbook.
  • Ctrl+C: Copy the selected content.
  • Ctrl+V: Paste the copied content.
  • Ctrl+Z: Undo the most recent action.
  • Delete: Remove the content of the selected cell.
  • Ctrl+X: Cut the selected content.
  • Ctrl+9: Hide selected rows.
  • Ctrl+0: Hide selected columns.

Ribbon Tabs Navigation:

  • Alt or F10: Select the active tab on the ribbon.

  • Arrow keys: Navigate among the items on the ribbon.
  • Ctrl+Shift+F10: Show tooltip for the focused ribbon element.
  • Spacebar or Enter: Activate a selected button.

Cell Navigation:

  • Shift+Tab: Move to the previous cell or option.
  • Arrow keys: Move up, down, left, or right among cells.
  • Ctrl+Arrow key: Move to the edge of the current data region.
  • End, Arrow key: Enter End mode and move accordingly.
  • Ctrl+End: Move to the last cell on a worksheet.
  • Ctrl+Shift+End: Extend selection to the last used cell.
  • Ctrl+Home: Move to the beginning of a worksheet.
  • Page down/Page up: Scroll down/up one screen.
  • Ctrl+Page down/Page up: Move to the next/previous sheet.

Formatting Cells:

  • Ctrl+1: Open the Format Cells dialog box.
  • F2: Edit active cell or formula.
  • Ctrl+Shift+F or Ctrl+Shift+P: Format fonts.
  • Ctrl+B: Apply or remove bold formatting.
  • Ctrl+I: Italicize text.
  • Ctrl+U: Underline text.
  • Ctrl+Shift+&: Apply outline border.
  • Ctrl+Shift+_: Remove outline border.
  • Ctrl+Shift+~: Apply General number format.
  • Ctrl+Shift+$: Apply Currency format.

Selections and Actions:

  • Ctrl+A: Select the entire worksheet.
  • F8/Shift+F8: Extend selection mode.
  • Alt+Enter: Start a new line in the same cell.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Fill selected cell range with current entry.
  • Shift+Enter: Complete cell entry and select cell above.
  • Ctrl+Spacebar/Shift+Spacebar: Select entire column/row.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar: Select all objects on a worksheet.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Home: Extend selection to the beginning of worksheet.

  • F2: Edit active cell or formula.
  • Ctrl+Shift+U: Expand or collapse the formula bar.
  • Ctrl+Alt+P: Turn on or off tooltips for checking formulas.
  • F9/Shift+F9: Calculate worksheets.
  • Ctrl+Shift+F9/Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9: Check dependent formulas and calculate all cells.
  • Alt+=: Insert AutoSum formula.
  • F4: Cycle through reference combinations in a formula.
  • F3: Paste a name from the Paste Name dialog box.
  • Enter: Move to the next field in a data form.
  • Alt+F11: Open the Visual Basic For Applications Editor.
  • Alt+F12: Open the Power Query Editor.

Refreshing External Data:

  • Esc: Stop a refresh operation.
  • Ctrl+F5: Refresh data in the current worksheet.
  • Ctrl+Alt+F5: Refresh all data in the workbook.

Power Pivot:

  • Shift+F10: Open context menu.
